Cellart at the Grands Prix du Design 2025: A Defining Moment in Our Evolution

The 2025 Grands Prix du Design represents much more than an award.
It marks a decisive step in Cellart’s evolution — a confirmation of the vision, mastery, and collaborative spirit that shape each of our creations.

As our founder Jonathan emphasized:
“The Grands Prix du Design marks an important moment in Cellart’s evolution — a recognition of the collective work and mastery that shape each of our creations. Every piece is the result of a shared pursuit: designers, artisans, engineers, and partners united by the same vision of excellence. This spirit of collaboration continues to define who we are and inspire the projects ahead.”

This year, three projects were presented across six categories, earning three Gold distinctions and three Silver awards. During the ceremony on November 13, Fade Out was named Project of the Year in the Art & Photography discipline — an exceptional honour that highlights the artistic reach and emotional depth of this unique work.

Project of the Year 2025: Cellart × Frédéric Cordier

Featured in two Art & Photography categories (Residential and Commercial), Fade Out received two Gold distinctions before earning the highest honour in its discipline. A reimagining of the contemporary wine cellar, the piece emerges from a dialogue between sculpture and functionality. The model presented at the Grands Prix is defined by its contrasting finishes: the depth of matte black paired with the purity of white lacquered panels — a subtle, sophisticated interplay of form and shadow. The work illustrates Cellart’s intention to push the boundaries of design while honouring the emotional dimension of craftsmanship and gesture.

Frédéric Cordier
“A wine cellar is a grid — a repetitive, utilitarian structure. Starting from a geometric pattern imagined in volume, I subtracted elements from its composition. As this ordering principle destabilizes and dissolves, an alternation of solids and voids appears — a lightweight, binary structure where bottles insert themselves according to a decreasing rhythm.”

Dominique Légaré
“Collaborating with artists like Frédéric Cordier — whose practice is guided by deep intentionality — reveals how emotion can be woven into every detail, transforming the work into an invitation to rise.”

Tonnerre de Vigne

A sculptural space where wood and light converse in a sober, poetic harmony. Crafted from ebonized red oak on the interior and natural oiled white oak on the exterior, the project showcases the richness of the materials and the precision of its detailing, enhanced by subtle copper accents. Designed for a penthouse in Montréal, Tonnerre de Vigne expresses the beauty of contrast and the rigor of artisanal mastery.

Perléo

An architectural wine cellar defined by fluid curves and an enveloping glow — conceived as a timeless gesture of design. Crafted in glass, brass, and white lacquer, Perléo plays with reflection and transparency to create an atmosphere that is both elegant and contemporary. Located in a private residence in Florida, it illustrates Cellart’s ability to unite technology, refinement, and sensoriality.

The Cellart Spirit

Beyond the competition, the Grands Prix du Design highlights what truly defines Cellart: a continuous pursuit of balance between rigor, emotion, design, and engineering.

Each creation emerges from close dialogue between our artisans, the designers, architects, and engineers who collaborate with us, and the clients who share our vision. Together, they shape exceptional pieces crafted with precision — spaces designed to endure, evolve, and deepen over time, much like the wine they are meant to preserve.

A Cellart environment is never static: it lives, breathes, and transforms with those who inhabit it, reflecting an approach where architecture, materiality, and sensoriality come together to create lasting experiences.
